Assessments

In the simplest terms, “assessment” is defined as a judgment one makes based on an understanding of the situation. Assessment may also be a method of evaluation. At GeoStrategy it can be both—and more.

We combine decades of real-world organizational and executive experience with a keen understanding of assessment instruments, tools, and technology to formulate a unique and powerful approach. Think of our assessment process as akin to medical diagnostic imaging. The equipment produces the pictures, but it takes a highly skilled professional to properly read them and make the correct diagnosis. GeoStrategy selects and customizes the diagnostic tools best suited to assess the health of an organization and its leadership. We then skillfully analyze the results and develop remedies to address critical gaps and shortcomings.
From thousands of assessment options, we’ve narrowed down our preferred list of instruments and tools to the very best, and we continually evaluate new products as they become available. GeoStrategy employs a wide variety of these tools, choosing the most appropriate for each client’s unique needs. 
 
Individual Assessments
GeoStrategy’s carefully chosen assessment instruments are used to support individual needs in the areas of selection, development planning, succession, individual growth, and leadership support. We also have forged alliances with dedicated assessment organizations and often work with our clients to create customized instruments to meet specific needs. A representative sample of assessments our expert team has recently used in leadership engagements includes The Leadership Skills Profile (LSP), created by Sigma Assessments, Inc., Sigma RADIUS 360 Degree Feedback assessment, Bar On Emotional Quotient Inventory, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Our expertise in analyzing and interpreting results from popular instruments and tools provides each client with actionable insight and enhanced value.
 
Individual & Team Assessments
GeoStrategy also employs a deep array of tools to gain insight into both individual and team behavior, personality, and dynamics. By choosing exactly the right instruments and tools for each application, our recommendations are informed with the greatest precision and clarity. Some frequently used tools include Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), an assessment for understanding how different conflict-handling styles affect interpersonal and group dynamics, and The Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation–Behavior® (FIRO-B®) Assessment, which helps people understand their own behavior and that of others in interpersonal situations. 
 
Organizational Assessments
Organization Climate Assessmentis a web-based tool that we customize for clients who need to rapidly read the pulse of the organization across such dimensions as respect, trust, communication, or vision. This online tool captures both quantitative and qualitative information to provide senior leaders with new insights from their employees. To better understand the findings, we often augment the report with facilitated sessions of small teams from across the enterprise, or conduct one-on-one confidential interviews. Our final report synthesizes and summarizes the responses of hundreds of participants and can be easily adapted for a Town Hall report to share findings within your organization.
