September 21, 2006: NPower’s 2nd Technology Scholarship
Debra Roberts, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH) spoke about her organization’s experience working with NPowerPA and specifically about one such project in which NPower installed a video e-mail system for their camp. This system (made possible by a technology scholarship given by GeoStrategy Consulting) allows sick children to send video e-mail to their parents during their weeklong stay away from home. Debra spoke about the positive impact this technological capability has had on the families of PRMH Camp serves.
March 3, 2006: GeoStrategy Hosted CIO Council
GeoStrategy hosted the NPower CIO Council session on March 3, 2006. NPower Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping other nonprofits use technology to better serve the community. NPower Pennsylvania is one of 12 members of the NPower Network, which was founded in 2000 with a commitment of $25 million in cash and software from Microsoft Corp. Their mission is to provide computer training and, in some cases, hardware and software, to other nonprofits in their areas at rates the nonprofits can afford.
GeoStrategy Held Holiday Soiree
GeoStrategy hosted employees and clients for a holiday "soiree" on December 15, 2005 to celebrate the season and introduce people to our new offices in Ardmore's Suburban Square.
GeoStrategy Attends the Pennsylvania Governors Conference for Women
Three representatives of GeoStrategy attended the second annual Pennsylvania Governors Conference for Women held on November 15, 2005 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. This year's conference included keynote addresses by Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and National Geographic Explorer host Lisa Ling.
GeoStrategy Sponsors the American Red Cross Pennsylvania Spectrum Awards Breakfast
GeoStrategy was one sponsor of the American Red Cross Pennsylvania Spectrum Awards Breakfast held on November 4, 2005 at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia. The event recognizes the achievements of women who have distinguished themselves as corporate and community leaders - not only bettering themselves - but also making outstanding contributions to help improve the quality of life in the community, honoring Dawn Staley, Temple Women's Basketball Head Coach; Ellen Savitz, Chief Development Officer of the School District of Philadelphia; and Donyale Reavis, Partner at Elam Reavis LLP.
GeoStrategy Provides Technology Scholarship to the Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia for Children's Oncology Summer Camp Program
The NPower Technology Scholarship Awards Luncheon was held at the Union League on September 15, 2005. Loraine McLellan, President and CEO of GeoStrategy Consulting, presented the Ronald McDonald House with a $5,000 award through the NPower Technology Scholarship Awards Program. NPower PA is one of 12 organizations of its kind set up with money from Microsoft Corp. and local funders to provide IT assistance to nonprofits in their areas. The Ronald McDonald House Camp is a place where kids with cancer and their siblings can enjoy just being kids. It's a week of fun and friendship, and freedom from being different. It's a chance to experience new activities and achieve new skills in a supportive, nurturing environment. The Ronald McDonald House will use its scholarship grant to support Internet connectivity, to allow parents of children a link to camp activities during the week.
